The short version

I spent 30 years in international marketing leadership. Not managing it from headquarters; actually doing it. Building teams in new markets. Launching brands where nobody knew who we were.

At Huawei, I was Chief Marketing Officer for all of Europe, taking the brand from number 5 to number 2 in three years, and then the first non-Chinese Chief Brand Officer for the consumer business globally, across 170+ countries; we took share from Apple and Samsung. At DiDi, I launched three new markets and hit 30% share in 30 days. At OLX Autos, I cut costs 30% while increasing ROI 20%.

Today I’m Group CMO at OLX, leading 11 brands across seven countries with a team of more than 120, and sitting on the executive leadership team. Alongside the day job, I coach a small number of senior marketing leaders. Two to three at a time. Never more.

Why I coach

The CMO seat is demanding, political, and often lonely, and almost nobody prepares you for it. Companies appoint marketing leaders and leave them to sink or swim.

I had coaches and mentors who changed my trajectory; this is me doing the same, with the added advantage that I’m still living the role I coach people through.
